At Birkenhead Community Church it is our aim to reach the community, to show them love and provide a place for everyone to come where they feel comfortable and happy.
Connections
A craft group that happens every second Friday from 10am at the Rawene Centre. Making everything from cards to sock monkeys.
Easter Art Exhibition
Our yearly art exhibition which has input from more than 30 artists. It is based around the Stations of the Cross, depicting the keys events in Jesus’ life in the week leading up to His death and resurrection. It is our hope that view the exhibition will challenge and enrich people’s spiritual lives.
Food Bank
There are families in our community that need a little extra help and we have a food bank set-up that provides then with food parcels.
Mainly Music
Every Tuesday morning the centre is taken over by 20+ toddlers and their mum and/or dad singing and dancing to some extraordinarily happy songs. A beautiful spread is always provided for morning tea and one of the main aims is to make both the children and their parents love the session and truly want to come back week after week.
Meals
We want to take care of our church family and one way we do that is by providing meals for those in need. Whether they’ve just had a new baby, or they have lost a close family member, a roster is organised and everyday homemade meals are delivered to them.
Missions Team
A group of people from the church meet regularly to discuss community, national and overseas missions. We also support some individuals on mission trips.
Christmas Wonderland
This is a huge event which has many people volunteering countless hours preparing and creating an incredible Christmas Tree trail which never fails to amaze every single guest. It last happened in 2009 with thousands of people lining up for up to a few hours. A cafe is also run during the event which is always very popular.
